item upgrader of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a widely used measure of power, and can be found on all item tooltips. It is also used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average item level can be found in the character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done by using the level of the item.
The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory states that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine how valuable an item's stats actually are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, because the level of the area the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.
Item Stats
Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.
Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.
Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an exclusive item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased and the chance of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..
The luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. All items have a success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
